The Steca Solsum 0606F is the entry-level model of Steca’s most successful charge controller generation — a compact, lightweight, and cost-effective 6A PWM solar charge controller for 12V or 24V solar home systems, delivering reliable battery protection and Steca charging quality in the smallest possible package.

General Description

The Steca Solsum generation is one of the most widely deployed charge controller families in solar home systems globally, trusted by installers, NGOs, and rural electrification programmes across the world. The 0606F delivers 6A of both charge and load current in an ultra-compact 145×100×30mm housing weighing just 150g — small enough to fit in the palm of a hand yet built on the same proven Steca PWM serial MOSFET topology as the larger models in the range.
Multistage charging technology — including bulk, boost (14.4V), and float (13.9V) — ensures thorough and efficient battery care for gel batteries (default) and liquid lead-acid batteries (adjustable via the optional RC100). Current-compensated load disconnection protects the battery from deep discharge by adjusting the LVD threshold to account for load current, while automatic reconnection at 12.4–12.7V (24.8–25.4V) restores the load once the battery has recovered. The four multi-colour LEDs provide clear status information on charging activity, battery state of charge, and fault conditions. The wide -25°C to +50°C operating range and ultra-low own consumption of less than 4mA make it ideal for hot climate deployments and battery-sensitive small systems. Made in EU, CE and RoHS certified.

Configurable for Night Light & Project-Specific Applications

The Solsum 0606F can be factory pre-configured with an evening or night light function — ideal for solar street lighting, garden lighting, and security applications — or field-programmed via the optional Steca PA RC100 remote control. Key parameters including LVD, LVR, end-of-charge voltage, boost voltage, and battery type are all adjustable, allowing the controller to be tailored to specific project requirements.
