GEL-type batteries use electrolyte that is saturated in a GEL form instead of liquid electrolytes betweeen the plates. GEL, being viscous in natures, assures high level of recombination of generated water vapour molecules formed during charging and discharging processes – keeping the maintenance free. These batteries are deep cycled batteries which makes them perfect for Solar applications. GEL electrolyte is especially suited for a high-temperature operating environment, giving these batteries an additional advantage over other batteries in outdoor solar applications.
