AGM - also known as Absorbed Glass Mat - is a type of Maintenance free Valve regulated battery that uses electrolyte saturated matts instead of liquid electrolytes between the plates. Saturated Matts assures recombination of generated water vapors within the battery - keeping the battery maintenance free. AGM deep cycle batteries use solid plates that are specifically designed for deep discharges, which makes them perfect for Solar applications that may be exposed to sporadic high currents.
