Introduction
MPPT Controllers operate the panels at a point that maximizes the power and then transfer this power to the batteries using smart power electronics.
General Description
The panels’ voltage is kept 30% ~ 50% higher than the maximum battery voltage so that even at high ambient temperatures, the panels with reduced voltages will still continue to charge the batteries. However, this is a massive loss of power. MPPT controllers by Maxima use a smart power tracking algorithm to operate the panel at the voltage that corresponds to the maximum powerpoint. With a built-in DC-DC converter and PWM charger, this power is most efficiently transferred to the batteries.
The controller also has a load controller built-in. Meaning, DC load with voltage the same as that of system voltage (12V or 24V) can also be connected to the controller. The battery is protected from deep discharges – a situation where the excess current is drawn from the battery – using built-in protections.
30% Boost in Charging
MAXIMA MPPT charge controllers boost the charging of the batteries with a 30% average extra charging current. This greatly reduces the panel required as well as other costs associated with panels installations.
Multiple Load Control Modes
From a small home system to more complex street lighting controlling, the load control employees varied modes in which the controller can be programmed to work. Other functions as traffic lights, garden lighting can also be implemented using MAXIMA solar charge controllers.
Graphic LCD Display
The vivid LCD display built-in the controller displays graphical system information that not only gives a good readout of the system but also makes programming the controller simple to undertake.
