Introduction
MAXIMA – OPzV Batteries are made using extremely rugged tubular plates specially designed for deep cycle applications requiring large storage capacities. Pure GEL electrolyte makes it possible to have long plated batteries without risking gravitational settlement that is associated with maintenance type batteries.
General Description
Unlike AGM batteries that saturate electrolytes into a glass mat, OPzV-type batteries by MAXIMA use pure GEL electrolytes without any matt in between the plates. The paste form of the electrolyte prevents gases from escaping by recombining them to reform distilled water that is retained inside the battery. Given the high purity of GEL and plates, these especially give a good life for large-capacity batteries used in deep cycle applications.
Maxima OPzV – Good choice for Commercial off-grid Solar
MAXIMA OPzV batteries offer some specific properties that make them suitable for solar off-grid or hybrid applications requiring high storage capacities. With larger and taller plates, the problem of stratification of plates is avoided using pure GEL electrolyte that assure the plates are always wetted without excessive gravitational settlement of acid – an issue that is generally associated with flooded maintenance type batteries. OPzS batteries, which make a good alternative to OPzV batteries require special maintenance charge voltage to ‘shake-up’ the electrolyte for even spread of acid throughout the length of the battery.
Maxima OPzV – Truly deep cyle
Thick plates and well-engineered plate design make MAXIMA OPzV batteries an idea for solar and backup applications that require regular deep cycling of the batteries. These features also make MAXIMA OPzV batteries strongly resilient to high temperatures – improving the reliability of the complete system making them ideal for commercial applications like Telecommunications. Oil and Gas and other systems where the power is critically required.
