Introduction
MAXIMA – AGM range of batteries is maintenance-free, provides good electrical reliability, and is lighter than the flooded lead-acid type of same capacity. It performs well to low and high temperatures and has a low self-discharge. Maxima batteries provide 5 times faster-charging possibility and its thick densely packed plates provide good deep cycle performance.
General Description
Maxima AGM batteries are manufactured using-thin ultra-fine fiberglass mat sandwiched between the plates that are saturated with battery acid to about 95% of what they can hold. Unline general AGM batteries, Maxima has excess saturated AGM Film that assists in providing excess electrolyte for recombination and improving the battery life. The mat in Maxima batteries is packed in between the plates and slightly compressed, then welded/soldered in place. Because the plates and mats are packed fairly tight, they are almost immune to vibration.
Superior Performance
Maxima AGM range of batteries has extremely low internal resistance due to its compressed saturated fibers. Typical losses in Maxima batteries in charging or discharging cycles are typically within 2-3%, which means the round trip efficiencies of about 5%. This is significantly lower than GEL and flooded batteries that have losses of 15% and 30% respectively. This means, to charge MAXIMA AGM battery of 200Ah capacity, you only need 205Ah of electric current, while flooded batteries would need 250-280Ah of electric charge. Due to lower losses, MAXIMA AGM batteries generate significantly less heat and therefore perform extremely well in hot climates, where the heat dissipation is difficult. By efficiently dissipating heat, Maxima batteries ensure the internal resistance remains low, which is important to prevent thermal runaway (a condition where the battery becomes extremely hot and bulgy).
More Flexibility in system configurations
MAXIMA AGM batteries employ recombination technology that re-generates water from all the hydrogen gases formed during charging / discharging within the battery itself. The recombination technology allows quick turn-around of gases – meaning, the rate of reformation of water is significantly faster than other battery technologies. This allows MAXIMA batteries to be able to be charged or discharged at higher rates – 10 x faster than GELLED batteries and 4x faster than Flooded batteries.
Quality AGM From Maxima
MAXIMA AGM batteries’ safety and design features make them the battery of choice for many applications, such as:
- Enclosed rooms where fumes cannot be tolerated.
- Turbulent places where shock-proof and vibration-proof is important.
- Clean areas use that require non-spillable batteries.
- Areas where maintenance is difficult or expensive to undertake.
- Extreme weather conditions (hot or cold).
- Places where highly reliable batteries are needed.
Maxima – Best For Sale Applications
Maxima batteries offer special unique features that make them particularly suitable for solar applications:
- High charge and discharge rates – This feature is particularly important as solar power systems utilize daylight hours to quickly charge the batteries. This means, all the energy needed for the load to run 24 hrs will have to be generated in very short time, while the sun shines.
- Deep cycle characteristics – this feature allows maximum capacity utilization of the batteries and therefore the size of the batteries (and therefore the cost of the system) is kept low.
- Extremely low losses – All the energy used by the load as well as to keep the solar system running will have to be generated by the solar panels. With lower losses in the batteries, the size of the solar panels can be reduced significantly.
- Maintenance free – Maxima batteries have ZERO maintenance and no-gas or thermal runaway will occur. This leave your remote solar applications totally maintenance free.
